I was joined by good friend Wendy who was on a get-away today away from the fray. On Vicki’s suggestion, we stopped at Kathleen and Gerhart’s place. We were not quite sure what to expect when we knocked on the door. Kathleen answered with a phone to her ear. She was on hold with AT&T and quickly hung up when she learned that we knew Vicki and Cheryl.
We got the full tour and history of the house, its burning, their fighting tenants, and their years of rehab.
Especially striking was Gerhart’s collection of button hooks…
And the tiny little soft leather shoes Kathleen found at a garage sale.
