I have been staying in North Scottsdale, which seems about 20 miles from downtown Scottsdale where I went today to visit the Museum of the West and see what else I could see. A painter, Charles Fritz read the Lewis and Clark journals and painted 100 scenes from the descriptions.
One very rich man, Timothy Peterson, bought all the paintings and lent them to the Museum of the West for an exhibit. A docent led the tour through the exhibit, which was quite interesting, as I hadn’t known much about Lewis and Clark, not even that Meriweather Lewis had bipolar disorder.
