This morning I headed back to Il Catanese, this time for a double-sized coffee granita. I had to admire the many varieties of breakfast rolls, making a selection difficult.
On the way back to my lodging, I came across this monument on a street corner. I was surprised to find that it commemorates Mario Rega, the young Carabiniere who died in an altercation with two former Tamalpais High School students, now in Italian prison for murder. Odd to discover in Rome this physical reminder of an event that I had read about in Marin local news.
