Day12 Melbourne

This morning I started off for the Immigration Museum. I wasn’t sure if it was worth returning to see the exhibits, but it turned out to be an excellent choice.

The first exhibit room has an identity theme with interactive displays. As you walk into the exhibit room, you see life-size holograms of different people of all races and walks of life…Chinese matrons…young anglo jocks..punk Latino kids etc.. and these life size holographic people look at you and make assumptions which show in their body language and facial expressions. The exhibit questions how we form our identity…

For example, is someone less aborigine because they are white? Or less Lebanese because they are Christian?
