We’re heading back to Havana, a three-hour drive. On the way we see a hauler with his horse-drawn cart.. Horse carts are indispensable to farmers as tractors are hard to come by. Taxis powered by horses are also common in the rural towns.

An artisan came this morning to our lodging to show us the beautiful purses his family weaves from sisal.

We left Havana today heading east toward Cienfuegos. At a roadside rest stop, this stuffed crocodile greeted customers from his place at the bar. A crocodile preserve is located not far from the rest stop.

The day started off with a beautiful sunrise seen from my hotel balcony.
