Day 7 Hemingway Day

We’re heading back to Havana, a three-hour drive. On the way we see a hauler with his horse-drawn cart.. Horse carts are indispensable to farmers as tractors are hard to come by. Taxis powered by horses are also common in the rural towns.

Day 3 Old Havana morning

This morning we walked through old Havana, Habana Vieja, starting on the Plaza de las Armas, surrounded by buildings and monuments established by the Spanish colonists. Many riches came through Havana on ships making their way back to Seville. It was a wealthy and thriving port city with walls and forts to defend against pirates.

Day 1 Miami

Back on the road again after two years of pandemic. I couldn’t wait any longer so I’m off to Cuba. When I travel I like to look at the local media to see what I can learn about the local culture. Miami is different from the SF Bay Area as shown by these TV shows …
